OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM AT WORK

Every time I think that current events cannot get more bizarre, I find myself having to rescind my somewhat amateur beliefs.  Just within the past few days, two judges have found themselves charged with criminal activity, said “activity” being violations of federal immigration statutes!

Recently, a Minnesota judge, knowing that ICE was waiting outside, allowed a defendant being charged with spousal abuse and his attorney to sneak out through the back door of the courthouse.  He was caught very quickly and the judge was arrested for harboring an illegal alien!  Around the same time, a former New Mexico judge and his wife were also arrested for the same offense.  In this case, the illegal was allowed to stay in the house despite the fact that he had an expressed interest in their teenage daughter who was reciprocating.

He was also supplied with an assault rifle to go “target shooting”!  I wonder if the couple gave any thought as to what or whom the target might be?  There is a solid rumor that other judicial officials may well find themselves in the same pickle according to Attorney General Bondi’s staff.

I must admit that, while being stunned, I am not terribly surprised.  I have noted previously the disastrous situation we find ourselves when it comes to our judicial system.  As someone indicated, judges no longer wear robes, they now wear capes!  Justice and politics are sleeping in the same bed and probably showering in the same stall.  We are able to see clearly the offspring that union has produced!

Our Founders were dedicated to isolating politics from all other aspects of governmental functions.  It is obvious now why they chose to do so.  Their version of justice envisioned equality.  What we now have is unequal justice.  We are currently found guilty, not because we are guilty, but because we voted for the wrong politician!  The Founders would be very angry with our injustice system as it exists today.

The presidency is the only office in which term limits have been enacted.  Those in Congress are allowed to serve indefinitely if re-elected by their constituents.  As long as they keep the folks at home satisfied, decades are not only possible, but probable.  What the folks at home are not aware of is that their representative is likely to tell them what they want to hear just to keep them content while he/she is more concerned with congressional politics which personally benefit them!  So many have entered as average citizens and left millionaires.  Tell me, how is that accomplished on a congressional salary?

Again, citizenship requirement for voting has reared its fiercely obnoxious head.  The left is screaming that some citizens will be restricted from voting if required to show identification.  Tell me, does a young man in his twenties feel discriminated against if he is compelled to prove ID before purchasing alcohol while an eighty-year=old man nearby isn’t required to do so?

Folks entering any secured facility promptly comply with a requirement of proof of their identity.  The same holds true if requested by a police officer or other official.  Why is it unnecessary when voting in a national election?  The Founders decreed that the process of voting is restricted to legal citizens.  Now, does a driver’s license prove citizenship?  Thanks to the Biden Administration . . . no.  However it is a common identification used by many if not most Americans and most include a photograph.

And voting should take place in a single day with no lag time.  Votes received later should be discounted.  An exception should be for citizens residing outside the country, such as military personnel; however that could be questioned based upon our current speedy communication systems.  The only entity profiting from a no identification policy is the Demunist Party.  The hatred it has for democracy is evident to anyone with two working brain cells as Senator John Kennedy likes to say.  I happen to agree.  Just look at the El Salvador fiasco.

Our justice system must be completely revamped and the only solution in my opinion is a Convention of States.  I’m not certain if that will occur in my lifetime; however, if this nation is to persevere, it can eventually become reality.  There was a time when the two parties had disagreements in policy, but banned together to solve difficult situations for the good of the country.  Sadly, that is no longer the case.  I sincerely hope that we will witness it again.
