THINGS THAT REALLY P*SS ME OFF!

I must start by saying that I’m not certain this blog will ever be published; however, if you are reading it I must have made up my mind.  It is written out of frustration and the fact that I have no one to vent that frustration on except you.  I sincerely hope that I will be forgiven.

  1.  I live in a society where individuals can be instantly hated simply because of the color of their skin or because they’ve chosen a particular religious faith to worship.
  2. I get most of my news from my desktop rather than television and it is very irritating to have to sit through a commercial before I can view the news event.  Even more irritating is the fact that the commercials never change.
  3. Are you as tired as I over the women’s basketball fiasco? Several male players expressed an interest in playing on the woman’s team; however; we still have difficulty defining a woman.  (You recall Justice Jackson’s inability at her confirmation hearing.)  I have chosen to present a definition which I feel is accurate.  This is it: a woman is an earthly human creature who has the capability to carry and deliver new life into the world.  She is capable of doing so due to a physical  attribute called a vagina which men do not possess.  Instead, they have an equally distinctive appendage called a penis in polite society and several other things while having a beer at a tavern.  Both are required to reproduce.  I hope that settles it.
  4. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey recently signed a bill into law which permits abortions up to birth The scene reveals a crowd of women clapping and cheering as the signing takes place.  The Catholic Church has taken action to excommunicate her as a result.  Incidentally, Healey is a lesbian and has no desire to engage in the reproduction process herself.  Most of you are aware of my feelings regarding the topic, but I will reiterate for those of you who don’t.  Once the egg is fertilized, a new human being is created and to terminate it is an act  of  murder.    How is that for an old geezer who is agnostic?
  5. The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution clearly states that citizens possess a right to privacy.  As we all know, that is pretty much history with all the current invasive technology we come into contact with currently; however, I’ve recently been made aware of an extensive practice which takes the cake as they say.  Devices are being installed in numerous public areas which record and store all activity taking place.  These devices called Flock Cameras  and about 120,000 have been installed to date with more on the way.  If you drive by in your automobile the camera will record your license number and the speed you are travelling as well as possibly   number of people in the vehicle.  Obviously, this is a boon for law enforcement; however, it is a Fourth Amendment violation and citizens have been recorded vandalizing them.
  6. Finally, to complete my “ticked off list” is the Iran War.  My admiration for Donald Trump is well-documented; however, his handling of the Iran conflict is disappointing.  It is obvious to any intelligent individual that Iran is not interested in negotiation and will continue to prolong its aggressive activity until November 3rd in hopes that Trump’s Administration will be decimated.  Trump must realize that many Americans are opposed to prolonging the conflict and this could affect the mid-terms.

The only solution is to invade the country and eliminate the current leadership.  The overwhelming majority of the Iranian people would support the invasion and celebrate the defeat.  A new peaceful Sunni régime would hopefully be created and the Middle East would flourish.  Are you listening Mister President?

The mid-terms are certainly going to be interesting.  I have some significant concerns considering the current socialist mania.  I’d feel much better if the Save America concept was passed into law.

Paco

KARL, WE’RE ON OUR WAY . . .

Can you believe it?  Mister Marx must be giggling in his grave.  Thank you, liberal university professors!  You’ve managed to accomplish the collapse of the Democrat Party and possibly our way of life.

The 2026 midterms are going to be critical to preserving our capitalist agenda.  I’m well into my eighties and I never dreamed that I would face a communist ideology here during my lifetime.  Now, if I repeat myself during this episode, please take my advanced age into consideration.

The goal of the Democrat socialists is to eliminate capitalism completely.  They openly announce that the Senate will be eliminated, police defunded, prisons closed, open borders, private property eliminated.  To get an idea of what we face if socialism wins, all one has to do is observe the recent history of Venezuela.

Up until a decade or so ago, Venezuela was a thriving capitalist country which welcomed American investment in its vast oil reserves.  Then came Nicolas Maduro and socio-communism.  Under Maduro, drug czars literally ran the country into the ground.  We all remember the drug invasion via numerous boat crossings and the incredible number of Americans who died as a result of illegal drug activity.

After President Trump captured Maduro and his wife and brought them to the US to face criminal charges, Venezuela begam to thrive again.  Cuba and other oppressive countries which depended on Venezuelan oil found themselves cut off and suffering.  That oil is coming to the United States instead.

The concept of socialism actually existed during revolutionary times and culminated in the Declaration of Independence.  Under autocratic rule of the Tories, those loyal to the king, life was difficult for the other colonists.  Taxes were high and colonists were compelled to house British soldiers at no cost to the government.  Judges were biased in favor of the king and ruled accordingly.  (Hmmmm, that sounds familiar, doesn’t it?)  Finally, the majority revolted . . . and that will happen again.

There are many moderates in the Democrat Party who are extremely upset over the direction the party has taken and I firmly believe that the Republican Party will benefit in November.  I’ve even heard talk of attempts to create a new political entity although I doubt whether that is a possibility.

I find it extremely difficult to accept the reasoning of socialism.  For example, the mandate to defund the police.  A basic concept of any society is to protect the populace by establishing rules protecting the innocent from those who would inflict harm.  How is the “socialist” going to react when his home is invaded, his wife raped and murdered and his children kidnapped?  And remember, socialists are not permitted to own firearms to protect their home!  And was that “someone” who broke in just released from a prison you recently eliminated?

Why are younger Americans appearing in droves to support the socialist/communist doctrine?   The answer is as simple as those who support it; everything is free!  Free healthcare sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?  Remember Mamdipwad promising free bus fares in New York?  Actually, the fares have risen with his tenure.  His entire term has been a fiasco including being booed of a stage when he attended an event and there is an increasing effort to ban him from the upcoming twenty-fifth anniversary of 911 due to his Islamic agenda.

As I indicated previously, the upcoming mid-terms, less than ninety days away, are going to be critical for the survival of our capitalist society.  My frustration with the Republican Party continues.  They could do so much more to support not only the president, but their own constituents.  The overwhelming majority of Americans of both parties demand a secure voting process; yet several GOP senators stubbornly refuse to support it.

What would our Founding Fathers think?

Paco

THIS ISN’T HAPPENING

I’ve mentioned on numerous occasions that the Democrat Party is in trouble; however, I wasn’t prepared for recent disclosures announcing poll numbers for the 2028 presidential election.  As you also may recall, I have great distain for pollsters who can determine where and who are polled.  Example: two random polls are taken concerning President Trump’s accomplishments, one in New York City and the other in Abilene, Texas.  Would the results be drastically different?   I’d bet money on it.

I saw a recent list of potential Democrat candidates based on popularity and was stunned to see AOC at the top of said list.  As you probably know, she is a former bartender who has accomplished absolutely nothing during her time on the hill.  Her socialist views are clearly defined during interviews; however, when questioned about them she has difficulty responding and usually walks away.

Second is none other that former Cabinet member under Biden, Pete Buttigieg, who accomplished absolutely nothing while serving except taking free plane rides wherever he went.  If elected, would his spouse then be referred to as First Man?

Others include Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Cory Booker and J.B. Pritzker.  Whitmer, Michigan’s governor, is best known for her “ shut everything down” policies during COVID and a subsequent kidnapping target which was investigated by the FBI.  She claims to be a moderate Democrat and is a strong opponent of the president..

Kamala Harris need no introduction.  Former vice president and Democrat candidate, Harris is well known for her “word salad” speeches and irritating laughter.  Like AOC, she is incapable of responding to legitimate questions from right wing news media.  Oh, and she picked Tim Walz as a running mate in 2024!

Gavin Newson also needs no introduction.  He was raised in a wealthy family and has never held a job as nearly as I can determine.  He has relied on his good looks and easy style to get him where he is and he has all but destroyed one of the most beautiful states in the country.  His lack of attention to forest maintenance resulted in wildfires which destroyed thousands of homes and he has made no attempt to resolve insurance issues which are delaying reconstruction.  Wealthy Californians and corporations are leaving in droves due to tax increases.  His high-speed rail construction project is a disaster that has gobbled up billions with absolutely no progress.  My friend would say, “Everything he touches turns to sh*t.”  His chances of legally becoming president coincide with my winning the lottery.

Then we have heavyweight J. B. Pritzker, current governor of Illinois and devout Trump hater.  Pritzker is heir to the Hyatt Hotel chain and his net worth is over four billion dollars; however, he allegedly isn’t allowed anywhere near management responsibilities of the chain.   He is known for his ultra-left progressive policies including gun control, sanctuary for illegal immigrants and repeal of the Illinois statute banning abortion.

Finally, we have Cory Booker, New Jersey Senator best known for the fact that he gave the longest speech in Senate history, some twenty-five hours, opposing the Trump agenda.  He was also a Democrat presidential candidate in the 2020 election.  A Rhode’s Scholar, he has written several books.  He was an Obama supporter and extreme proponent of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

Now, I ask you: in your opinion, are any of these individuals qualified to be president of the United States?   The Democrat Party has no leader!  Most don’t know this, but it is also bankrupt.  While the GOP has 200 million dollars in assets, DNC is two million in debt.  Socialism has taken over and moderate members are extremely frustrated.  Example: Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is threatening to leave the party!

The midterms are just a hundred days away and the fate of this country has never been more endangered.  I am extremely concerned.

Paco

LET HIM SPEAK

Like many of you, I watched the president’s speech Thursday evening with a great deal of interest.  He proved what intelligent Americans have known for some time; that our election system is in chaos.  He did so by releasing previously classified documents to the public, something the radical left would never have allowed.

I was stunned to learn that two members of the legacy media, ABC and NBC, chose not to broadcast the speech of the President of the United States thereby verifying the leftist bias which has been so evident to most of us.  The ratings for these media entities are plummeting while options like Newsmax and Fox are growing exponentially.  As I think I’ve mentioned, Walter Cronkite would be appalled by legacy news media’s current biased “news”.

The president’s revelations regarding voter fraud are stunning.  Hundreds of thousands of illegal registrations in just f few states have been discovered.  Many liberal states have refused to release voter rolls so the actual count would be significantly higher.  Still, the left and a few RINO’s resist the Save America Act.  There can be only one explanation . . .  The president also revealed that three quarters of a million legitimate voter records are in the hands of the Chinese government!

And the violence on the left continues.  Recently, it was disclosed that members of the Supreme Court have increased protection exponentially due to an increase in threats to the extent that they have been issued body armor vests!  One member’s child was shot and killed when opening their front door.  Now, I don’t support all decisions made by the court; however, this is disgusting.  Violence is never the solution to a disagreement which the left refuses to understand.

Speaking of violence, most seems to occur in “sanctuary cities”.  Obviously, the term  “sanctuary” applies to illegal criminals rather than tax paying citizens.  The concept has always puzzled me.  If an individual is hiding a criminal in his home and refuses to allow law enforcement to enter and arrest, isn’t that in itself a crime?  Why would local officials look the other way while illegals rob, rape and plunder those who elected them?

Another concept I cannot fathom is “cashless bail” for felony crimes.  An individual commits a horrendous act and is allowed back on the street to offend again?  It would be laughable if it wasn’t so serious.  Of course, this is the backbone of socialism; defund the police, empty the prisons, etc.

I always want to ask a socialist if they own a home and do they realize that with socialism there is no private property.  Do they own a prosperous business?  Same response.  Your neighbors now own and profit from both.  Socialist societies have been implemented for centuries and have failed every time.  Why?  Because it destroys individualism.  New York City is a classic example.

ICE is once again under fire.  Recent traffic stops have resulted in suspect deaths and the left is apoplectic.  For a brief period, such stops were cancelled; however, the president insisted they continue.  At the risk of beating a dead horse, I have personally engaged in such stops on numerous occasions while a police officer and all ended peacefully unless the subject resisted arrest and then only on a couple of occasions as I recall.

In each of the celebrated events, the suspect not only resisted but attempted to harm or kill the ICE agent who was then compelled to take deadly action.  Still, the left implied that he was murdered at the hands of the Gestapo who cheered as he went down.  Had he cooperated, he would still be alive.

I think it’s going to be an interesting mid-term election.  Traditionally, presidents have lost control of Congress in mid-terms and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t deeply concerned.  Should it happen this time, the first act of the new Congress will be to impeach President Trump.  And then the socialists will advise me that I no longer own my car.

Speaking of socialists, New York’s Mayor Mamdani’s annual salary is $260,000 and city bus fees have gone up.  I thought they were supposed to be free . . .

DEI SHOULD DIE

Sounds sort of crass, doesn’t it?  Diversity, Equity and Inclusion?  What could be wrong with such a mantra?  Wouldn’t we want everyone to be included in opportunity?

My answer is simple: Thanks to left-wing educators like Randi Weingarten, DEI takes precedent over such things as training, experience and knowledge.  It must be considered first.  Example: we all recall the potential Supreme Court justice who could not define the word “woman”.  It was far more important that she was female and black than whether she was competent and unbiased.

Our current education policies are destroying this country.  “Readin, Riten and Rithamtic “  are no longer taught.  What matters now are gender affirmation and socialist lunacy.  If you were to ask the average high school graduate to name the three branches of federal government, you would get a blank stare.  Only thirty percent of those entering college can read at adult level according to statistics I’ve obtained.  And cursive writing?  What is that?

Someone far more intelligent than I once said, “Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.”  A knowledge of the past prevents future mistakes.  That’s why we older folks know socialism has never worked.  Why isn’t the current high schooler being taught that?  Instead, they are taught that socialism is the answer to all of the woes of society.

As I’ve indicated previously,  Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are neither equitable nor inclusive.  Many are excluded simply because they don’t qualify to be included.  Does that make sense?  If so, I’m far too old!

Paco

A CLASSIC BETRAYAL

Just a few days ago, the United States Supreme Court reached a decision which, in my opinion, is a betrayal of trust to the American people.  In a five/four ruling, it declared that anyone born in the United States is automatically an American citizen regardless of parental citizenship!  In other words, a foreign pregnant woman can enter the country and have a child and return home with a United States citizen cuddled next to her after receiving a Social Security number for the child..

In 1868, Congress approved the Fourteenth Amendment which stated that a child born in this country and subject to the jurisdiction thereof was a legal citizen.  The purpose of the amendment was to establish citizenship for freed slaves and their offspring born and living here.  In no way was the intent to allow foreign nationals and illegals to take advantage of citizenship for their offspring.

What is not common knowledge is the fact that thousands of pregnant women from China, Russia and other areas fly into liberal states, to have their children and then fly home after a short stay!  Sanctuary states actually provide room and board locations and profit from the activity.

Twenty years later, these children can re-enter the United States and assume all benefits as citizens; however, where does their true allegiance lie?  My guess would be the country where they were raised.  Upon returning, these “citizens” would enter with absolutely no knowledge of our culture.  Come to think of it, thanks to liberal education, that holds true for those being raised here!

Obviously, the same holds true for illegals who have children while here.  And get this: they, as natural-born citizens, could actually run for president!  This has to stop!

Any respect I had for Chief Justice Roberts dissipated when he joined the “lefties” to render this horrendous decision.  On the other hand, Justice Clarance Thomas became my hero when he dissented.

In the meantime, fewer and fewer children are being born here while countless  potential American citizens are being legally aborted.  Tell me, shouldn’t the intentional ending of the life of a future United States citizen be a homicide?

Speaking of children, I recently read an article which left me horrified.  A Somali man in the Islamic Republic of Minnesota was arrested for sexually abusing a ten-year-old girl which included penetration as well as other sexual activity, and which had been going on for nearly two years!  Not only was he released without charges, he was also pardoned by the Minnesota Pardons Board led by none other than Governor Tim Walz!  The offender’s excuse?  In Islam, such action is not a crime!  He blamed the girl for engaging him!  (In strict Islamic culture women are considered property.)

I can’t begin to comprehend the actions of Walz and those who voted with him to pardon an illegal pedophile.  I wish I could say I was surprised; however, their previous criminal activity in Minnesota indicates their character.

How would I have dealt with punishment?  I’m glad you asked.  To begin with, he would spend the rest of his life in prison, but only after after his fellow prisoners were told why he was there.  I’m sure some have ten-year-old daughters.  Finally, he would begin his prison sentence only after surgical removal of the offending appendage.

Can you hear the lefties screaming?

Paco

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!

Frankly, folks I am frightened!  Recent mid-term elections have dealt a blow to what I believe to be our democracy.  This is especially true with those in my home state of New York which had a tsunami of socialist winners thanks to the city’s Mayor Mamdani and the state’s Governor Hochul.

The Empire State isn’t the only location where socialism is raising its ugly head.  Polls in several states are also turning to this universally unsuccessful  philosophy.  This is best demonstrated by the reaction of extreme leftist Trump hater, Jim Carville, who is screaming that his party has been stolen!  The plain and simple fact is that socialism, like communism, has suffered defeat throughout history.  It has never been successful nor will it ever be successful!

Socialism and Communism vary only slightly.  Both deny private property ownership, for example: the socialist mantra has property controlled by a democratically elected government while communism owns all property without consent of the governed.

The left is quick to brand conservatives as “Nazis” which is laughable.  As I’ve indicated in previous pieces, the term comes from the German word “national” which is pronounced “not tse oh nahl.  Adolph Hitler’s organization was the National Socialist German Worker’s Party!  Nazism was based on a socialist agenda.  Simply put, socialism is anti-capitalism.  Profit is denied.  Personal ownership is denied.  Ownership is social.

The marriage of Islam and Socialism is deeply concerning.  Both have a deep hatred of democracy and, therefore, America.  The duo has pretty much destroyed European culture.  In England gangs of rapists roam the streets targeting young white females and, if caught, are tried before an Islamic court!.  Since females have no rights in Islam . . .

The Democrat Party as we older folks knew it is deceased.  I wonder what Truman, JFK, LBJ and FDR would think if they could witness the current disaster?  Congressional nominees openly express hatred for the United States and Donald Trump don’t bother to hide it.  Their objectives: open borders, unregulated elections, emptying prisons, Supreme Court expansion, birthright citizenship, acquisition of power by any means available. How is this accomplished?  Socialism..

The United States has flourished for two hundred-plus years based on a Judeo/Christian society.  Like our European neighbors, we have been inundated with millions of Islamists flooding the country and imposing their religion and philosophy on this population.  The result is rampant crime.  One only has to observe statistics in Minnesota, California, Ohio and elsewhere, much of the damage attributable to Islamists and socialist philosophy.

My ancestors came to America from Scotland in the late sixteen hundreds as indentured servants and settled in New Jersey.  Many took part in the Revolutionary War and some were killed.  I wonder what they would think of our current perilous situation?  Obviously, they wouldn’t even comprehend the concept of socialism.

In less than a week, we will celebrate the birth of the greatest nation in history.  I sincerely hope that we aren’t witnessing its pending demise.

IT’S ELECTION MONTH

I’m being a bit facetious, but in the case of California, it borders on the truth as it could take a month to count all of the mail-in ballots.  It is possibly the most corrupt election system on the planet.  While Steve Hilton, a Republican, has taken a lead position, California Democrats will not allow for him to win and I predict that Xavier Becerra will become the next governor of that state.  If you recall, it was Becerra while in the Biden Cabinet who allowed the importation of tens of thousands of children illegally . . . and then lost them!

Meanwhile, incumbent Karen Bass maintains the lead in the Los Angeles mayoral race despite an abominable performance while her primary opponent, Spencer Pratt, a Republican, is a far better choice with a logical plan for improving a once beautiful city while Bass couldn’t run a corner fruit stand much less a city.  When is the California populous going to wise up?  (Update) Pratt lost and another inept Democrat will run with Bass.

Even more alarming, Maine Democrat senatorial candidate, Graham Platner has been endorsed by party high-ups despite a frightening list of abhorrent behavior which is expanding almost daily, including a nazi tattoo, despicable treatment of women and a penchant for masturbating in portapotties.  Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are among them.  Governor Janet Mills, also a Democrat, dropped out of the race due to a lack of donations and Platner now faces current Republican Senator Susan Collins November.  (Update): Adolph Platner won with seventy percent of the vote!

One thing which concerns me a great deal is the fact that Islam has made such inroads into our society.  It is the second largest religion following Christianity.  It is not the faith in which I find concern; it is the culture. We’ve all been inundated with the fiasco in Minnesota where fraud has been rampant within the Somali community.  Example: The Learing Center.

Islamic extremism is rampant in Europe.  Recently, a teenager was knifed to death in England, but no charges were brought because the perpetrator, a Muslim, said the victim ridiculed his faith.  In Ireland, a Muslim was caught trying to behead an Irish citizen with a knife all radicals carry.  So much for guns being bad . . .

J. D. Vance has been appointed by the president to uncover rampant fraud there as well as California and now Ohio, all  with large Islamic populations.  There is ample evidence that many government officials have looked the other way in these fraud schemes, I’m sure to their own benefit.  The chances are good that criminal charges will be filed in the not-too-distant future.  This is particularly true with Minnesota’s governor and attorney general.  It is my understanding that a half dozen arrests have already been made in Ohio and California.

Voter fraud is rampant in our society.  This is particularly true in blue states; the results in California and Maine are classic examples.  A logical solution is stalled in the Senate, thanks to both the left and right; Donald Trump’s Save America Act and I am particularly upset with the GOP members.  We desperately need trusted election results that restore the faith of American voters.  I will never comprehend the reluctance on the part of elected politicians to resist honest and fair elections.

Currently, Bill Gates is testifying before a Congressional committee regarding his relationship with infamous Jeffery Epstein.  Like most Americans, I wish we could move on to much more important things; however, the left persists, certain that at some point scurrilous activity on the part of Donald Trump will miraculously appear.  This is the same Trump who threw Epstein out of Mar-A-Lago when he learned that Epstein was making inappropriate comments to a female guest.

On to other things:  June 6th marked the 82nd anniversary of D Day when allied forces invaded France from Normandy Beach resulting in 3,000 casualties, 2,400 of them American troops.  It marked the beginning of the closing of the war in Europe which would end a year later.  It would be another several months until Japan surrendered.  I wonder what those young men would think if they could see the America of today?  Corrupt politicians, massive criminal fraud, illegal immigrant invasion . . .

Paco

YOU CAN’T MAKE IT UP!

Memorial Day has passed and some on the left have made a mockery of it as expected.  Probably most prominent, is Tampon Tim Walz’s devotion to George Floyd, who was murdered six years ago by a police officer and his dance to said devotion.  It is difficult for me to comprehend this level of stupidity or vanity.  And to ignore those who actually surrendered their lives to defend this country only adds to my anger.

First, George Floyd was not murdered!  His autopsy confirmed that he died from a drug overdose while resisting arrest by an honest decent police officer who was only attempting to subdue him.  That man, Derek Chauvin, is currently in prison serving twenty-two-plus years after being convicted of “murder” by a radical leftist court.  How can anyone be convicted of a murder that never occurred, I ask?

Floyd had a long criminal record. At the time, he was accused of attempting to pass a counterfeit twenty-dollar bill and failed to comply with law enforcement instructions and had to be taken down.  Had he complied,  the outcome would have been entirely different.  On the other hand,  during his service Chauvin had received several commendations including a medal of valor.  While in prison, he was stabbed twenty-plus times with a shank by a fellow prisoner, but survived.

Did Officer Chauvin lean on Floyd’s neck longer than necessary?  As someone who has been involved in similar incidents, I can only attest to the fact that stress and adrenalin are factors when attempts to arrest are met with resistance.  It is my understanding that Floyd refused to enter the unit vehicle and began struggling and was then placed on the ground.  At six feet, four inches, he would have been imposing to say the least.

The incident caused nationwide riots and demonstrations throughout the summer and resulted in enormous damage, injuries and some deaths.  It also resulted in a suit awarding a twenty-seven-million-dollar settlement to Floyd’s family although I assume that ambulance chasers got a good chunk.

Meanwhile, the midterms are creating significant surprises.  Trump’s endorsements of those candidates opposing Swamp creatures have created anger and frustration of many in his party, mostly other creatures.  I firmly believe that if John Thune was running this time, he’d be gone too.  We desperately need a genuine Republican Party back to support the president.

Speaking of genuine, Texas Democrat candidate James Talarico is a genuine enigma.  He’s already earned the nickname “Talafreako” due to his alleged platform indicating that God supports abortion and there are actually several genders.  According to Talarico, transgender children are “special” and have his love.  He is also avowed vegan in a state which depends on exportation of meat products.  The fact that he won the nomination is of deep concern for me.

The Iran conflict remains at the top of the news.  Frankly, I’m becoming impatient with the progress and I believe most Americans feel the same.  Trump continues to predict an “end soon” and it’s obvious that the Iranian leadership has no intention of capitulating.  As much as I dread it, the only solution is a full assault and surrender by the Iranian government.  As the midterms approach, Americans are impatient and grumping over high fuel prices and that could definitely affect the November election.

Demonstrations outside an ICE facility in New Jersey have been ongoing for several days and show no signs of ending.  Several protesters have been arrested for threats against not only the agents, but their families as well.  Only recently has its governor authorized local and state police to assist federal agents in the protests.  Those protesting are claiming poor conditions for those in custody who are allegedly being starved and mistreated.  My solution would be to allow several protest leaders to enter and determine that such is not the case.  And I wonder if these paid protesters are paying their income tax?

Should the protests continue after said determination, I would employ a rather simple solution to disperse the protesters . . . fire hoses.

Paco

LET’S GO BACK

As the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence nears, I can’t help but wonder what the “Fathers” would think if they could witness the current state of affairs.  I visualize them shaking their heads and weeping.  These individuals literally placed their lives on the line to divorce this country from an oppressive regime which controlled every facet of existence.  Does that sound familiar?

Their ultimate achievement, the Constitution, particularly the first Ten Amendments, guaranteed personal rights which every citizen possessed.  Today, those rights are abused by those in power or ignored completely.  A classic example is the right to “keep and bear arms”.  That’s pretty specific, don’t you think?  Yet that “right” has virtually disappeared.  The purpose of the Second Amendment is clear: an unarmed populace cannot defend itself from oppression.

What do you suppose George Washington would think of a president who, as soon as he was sworn in, opened the southern border allowing millions of illegals to flood the nation, many of whom were convicted criminals in their own countries and who then continued their criminal activity with Americans as victims?  I think George would agree with me that it was an act of high treason.

Most presidents are unsung heroes.  One was a favorite of mine: Harry S. Truman, a Democrat believe it or not.  A native Missourian, Truman got into politics after his haberdashery business failed during the Depression.  He was not a popular president during his administration, being referred to as Harry Ass Truman by his opponents.  In 1945, he was a U.S. Senator from Missouri when Franklin Delano Roosevelt chose him to run as vice president that year.

Within weeks from the election, FDR died rather suddenly and Truman found himself President of the United States.  World War II had been raging for several years and while the European war was slowly winding down, the war in the Pacific conflict with Japan was becoming more intense.  Finally, he was compelled to make the most devastating decision of any president in history; ending the war by employing the newly developed atomic bomb . . . not once, but twice on Hiroshima and Nagasaki before the Japanese finally surrendered.

He went on to serve another term before returning to Missouri.  There was no Air Force One or Secret Service sendoff.  That didn’t start until JFK was assassinated a decade later.  He and Bess climbed into their secondhand vehicle and drove back to Missouri to the only asset they had; a house left to them by Bess’s mother.  One of my favorite stories about Truman goes like this:  He and Bess were travelling and got lost.

Harry finally got out of the car and knocked on the door of a residence to get directions.  After getting them, he thanked the owner and turned away.  Suddenly, the owner exclaimed, “I hate to tell you this, but you look like Harry Truman.”  Truman turned around and smiled, saying,   “I hate to tell you this, but I am Harry Truman.”  He died the day after Christmas in 1972.

Those were the sane days.  The Democrats and Republicans had different agendas; however they worked together to solve serious national issues.  Today they fight amongst themselves, particularly the GOP, the Save America Act being a classic example.  I wasn’t particularly surprised to see several Republican members lose their primaries due to Trump’s endorsement of opponents.  Massie and Cassidy are among those who will no longer be serving.

This is Memorial Day weekend.  Folks who plan on driving to their destination are upset and concerned over the cost of gasoline and diesel fuel.  Like others, I’m getting impatient with the progress of the Iran conflict and wish Trump would bite the bullet (bad analogy) and take what we all know is the only action which will bring the war to an end.

I’d love to get back to Arlington Cemetery and see the resting places of those who devoted their lives to this great country: my Uncle Jim, Audie Murphy, JFK and so many others.
