After some health issues, I’m back . . . and, candidly, I wonder why. Like most of you, I’ve been following the Lindsay Clancy trial and was flabbergasted to learn there had been a mistrial and even more so when I discovered that eleven of the twelve jurors were for acquitting her! Thank God for the single individual who possessed required common sense. The defendant murdered her three children and openly admitted to doing so. A few days later, another mother who had been watching the Clancy trial murdered her own two-year-old! It came as a surprise to the leftist media when it was revealed that the single holdout in the Clancy trial was a Black male! Thank you, sir!
Those of you who have read my previous blogs are well aware of my feelings when it comes to the safety of children and I cannot begin to comprehend causing any child injury or death much less one’s own offspring. For me, this includes abortion.
‘Nuff said. Like many of you, I’ve been watching the mid-term convention in Texas. Attendance filled the stadium and flowed to the streets outside much to the dismay of democrat socialists who predicted that no one would show. One thing puzzles me: I had a working relationship with the Secret Service before I retired and thought I was familiar with policies of the presidential protective detail (PPD).
I had always felt that for security reasons, the president and vice president would not attend public events together. This would be especially true with the several assassination attempts on our current chief executive; yet, not only was the VP there, but the house speaker who is third in line to assume the presidency and numerous members of the cabinet. A 911 type attack would have eliminated the entire administrative branch!
Like many of you, I spent Friday glued to the events occurring at Ground Zero and other locations which were targeted on that horrible day twenty-five years ago. It was for the most part somber with the names of those killed being read and the sad comments of those who lost loved ones. A brief clip of Mayor Mamdani and AOL laughing stirred up anger; however, former Mayor Rudy Giuiliani defended them stating that such was not the case.
Those of you who have read a previous blog know that 911 had a personal effect on me. I had flown into New York exactly two weeks before that day and again on several occasions afterword and was able to actually witness the devastation firsthand and there are memories which will stay with me forever.
On to other things . . . I continue to stew over the upcoming midterm elections. If the communist left regains the Senate and House, capitalism will die and the life we enjoy will cease with it. The socialist/communist goals are a result of the quality of education kids are getting nowadays. The teachers unions are so far left that they are out of sight.
The study of history is so important. A man far wiser than I once exclaimed that those who don’t study history are doomed to repeat it. As I’ve indicated before, the socialism/communism concept has never worked and never will work. The students I taught eons ago learned that fact. Those today would reveal a blank stare and the question, “What is history?”
When the Founding Fathers created the Constitution, they were aware of one important fact: that power in the hands of a single entity (a monarch) was a socialistic detriment. They created the concept of separation of powers; hence, the three branches of government (executive, legislative and judicial) we enjoy today. Socialism/communism rely on a concentration of power and complete control. If the left is successful in November you will immediately witness a return to what is in essence a new monarchy.
Let’s not let that happen.
