WHAT COUNTRY AM I IN?

It’s like I’ve awakened after a long sleep to find myself in a world totally strange to me.  As I look around, my surroundings are unrecognizable and I begin to panic.  Where are the familiar landmarks such as sanity in politics?

In this new world, a former rapper and devout communist has won the democrat nomination for mayor of the nation’s largest city.  He ran on the following agenda: minimum wage to be thirty dollars and hour by 2030, freezing rents, free childcare for children for five years after birth, free bus and subway fares, city-owned grocery stores . . .  Well, you get the idea.

And how does he plan to support his agenda?  Why, tax the rich, of course.  He doesn’t realize that all of the rich will be gone by then.  He has also pledged to arrest the Israeli prime minister if he ever comes to the city and to support pro-Palestine activity!  In my country, the thought of supporting a communist leader would be heartily laughed at.

Back home, the borders were secure and those here unlawfully would be immediately deported.  Now, illegal immigrants rape, murder and steal and those efforts are supported and even defended.  Law enforcement attempting to arrest and deport this scum are assaulted, up 4,000 percent from a year ago!  They are castigated for wearing masks to conceal their identity because family members have been threatened.  Yet, they have no problem with rioters destroying cities wearing masks.  The stupidity would be humorous under other circumstances.

Back home, the judges were treated with respect and politics had no place in the process. The judicial system here is totally corrupt.  “Judge shopping” is routine.  The objective is to find a known liberal judge and transfer criminal trials to that jurisdiction regardless of where the alleged crime occurred.  Federal district judges are issuing opinions which affect the entire nation rather than their specific jurisdiction.  Example:  Rescinding presidential directives regarding deportation.  So much for “innocent until proven guilty”;  now, it’s the other way around.

To a certain extent, I blame ultra-liberal law schools that push socialism and turn out individuals totally biased to “practice law”.  The concept of law is essential in any organized society.  Without it pandemonium reigns.  Classic examples are the current situations in Los Angeles  and other major cities where liberal leaders do not support law enforcement.

And how about our news media?  It is no longer news; instead, it is opinion!  This is true on both sides of political isle; however, the left is much more vocal.  Viewers are abandoning classic sites and relying more on social media.  Joe Rogan is incredibly popular as was Dan Bongino before he joined the FBI.  Political candidates are eager to be interviewed by podcasters.  Donald Trump is no exception.

During this composition an event occurred which greatly angered me.  Two firefighters in Idaho were shot and killed by a sniper while responding to a fire call.  Another is hospitalized with serious injuries resulting from the same attack and his situation is tenuous.  It is presumed that the sniper intentionally started the fire to  target his victims before committing suicide!

I can’t, nor will I ever, begin to comprehend the insanity required to commit this type of horrendous act.  The investigative side of me demands to know . . .why?  What was the motive?  We’ll probably never know the reason because the sniper killed himself.  Was one of the firefighters a target while the others were just incidental?  I doubt it because he’d have no way of knowing who would respond.

Did he give any thought to the families of those killed and injured?  Dumb question, right?  If his original intent was to commit suicide, why take others?  Further investigation may discover the motive.  The sniper’s recent activity and behavior as well as interviews with family members could shed light on the motive if, indeed there was one.

It is imperative that we do everything to protect those who protect us.
